Hilleman Laboratories scientist Dr. Ankur Mutreja awarded prestigious - “DBT Cambridge Lectureship”

New Delhi, 23rd June 2016: Recognising an exemplary achievement by one of its scientists, Hilleman Laboratories, a first-of- its-kind joint-venture partnership between MSD and the Wellcome Trust, proudly announces Dr. Ankur Mutreja’s appointment at the University of Cambridge under the prestigious “DBT Cambridge Lectureship” programme. In partnership with the Government of India’s (GoI’s) Department of Biotechnology (DBT), the University invited applications for 5 fixed-term, research-oriented University Lectureships to strengthen the University’s strategic relationship with Indian research institutions and enhance academic, research and translational capacities of India and UK.

Dr. Mutreja, who has been with Hilleman Laboratories, leading the company’s ETEC vaccine project is elated on being awarded this highly coveted role. Expressing his views, Dr. Ankur Mutreja, Project Lead Hilleman Laboratories said, “I am humbled to receive this honour and grateful to the University of Cambridge and the Department of Biotechnology, GoI for considering me for this prestigious position. I would also like to express my gratitude to Hilleman Laboratories for providing me a stimulating and highly motivating environment to enhance my knowledge and expertise through advanced research. This development is a testimony to Hilleman Laboratories philosophy of providing world-class infrastructure and environment that nurtures talent, especially in the field of biotechnology and Vaccine R&D. Dr Mutreja is one of the 5 scientists who have been selected for this lectureship programme. During the 5 years of the lectureship position, Dr. Mutreja will be dividing his time working with both UK and Indian institutions. In his latest capacity, Dr. Mutreja will further strategic ties for Hilleman Laboratories in the UK and European markets and facilitate the organisation’s application for grant funding.
